Missouri S&T launches in-person classes for St. Louis engineers wanting master’s degree

Engineering professionals in the St. Louis area who want to network, earn career-boosting certificates or work toward a master’s degree from Missouri S&T have a local option beginning April 4. Missouri S&T will offer in-person classes at the University of Missouri-St. Louis Computer Education and Training Center, 12837 Flushing Meadows Drive.

FIRST Tech Challenge championship comes to S&T March 5

Excitement will run high as hands-on learning takes center stage – or the gymnasium floor in this case – on Saturday, March 5, when FIRST Tech Challenge comes to Missouri University of Science and Technology for a regional championship. Hundreds of tech-savvy students will show off their skills and their robots in the varsity gymnasium at Missouri S&T’s Gale Bullman Building, located at 10th Street and Bishop Avenue (U.S. Highway 63).

NASA selects S&T for lunar-living project

Researchers at Missouri S&T will develop mineral extraction techniques for lunar construction as part of a NASA project to make it possible for people to live and work on the moon. NASA will provide up to $2 million over two years to support S&T’s research.

Former NASA astronaut to speak at Missouri S&T

Dr. Sandra Magnus, a former NASA astronaut who was recently elected to the National Academy of Engineering, will talk about her career in engineering and space when she presents “Beyond the Horizon” at 7 p.m. Monday, March 7. The talk will be held in-person and on Zoom from Leach Theatre in Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets, on the Missouri S&T campus. The event is open to the public. Admission is free, but reservations are required for in-person attendance.
