Missouri S&T chemist to present sixth Stoffer Lecture

Dr. Jay Switzer, Chancellor’s Professor and Curators’ Distinguished Professor emeritus of chemistry at Missouri S&T, will deliver the sixth annual Stoffer Lecture at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, in the Monsanto Lecture Hall, Room G3 in Schrenk Hall on the S&T campus. Nobel scholar to share climate change solutions in 2021 Stueck Lecture at Missouri S&T

Dr. Don Wuebbles, professor emeritus of atmospheric science at the University of Illinois, calls climate change “the biggest challenge of our time.” Wuebbles, who shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for his role in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), will discuss extreme weather events related to climate change and possible ways to slow and mitigate the challenge during the 2021 Stueck Lecture at Missouri S&T.

Missouri S&T attains record enrollment for underrepresented minorities

The official fall 2021 enrollment at Missouri University of Science and Technology, recorded at the end of the semester’s fourth week, includes a record percentage of underrepresented minorities. Underrepresented minority students make up 12.3% of the first-year-student enrollment, which is an all-time high.
