Moore named associate provost of administration at Missouri S&T

Dr. Caprice Moore, director of operations for the George Herbert Walker School of Business and Technology at Webster University, has been named associate provost of administration at Missouri University of Science and Technology. Her appointment began Monday, Jan. 11. Moore will assist Missouri S&T Provost Robert Marley in directing and managing both short- and long-term critical priorities, initiatives and activities that support Missouri S&T’s strategic teaching and research efforts. The position, which is housed in the provost’s office, is an upgraded one and the result of a restructuring effort to better serve the department’s constituents.

Fan named IEEE Fellow

Dr. Jun Fan, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology, has been named a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Fan, who also is director of the Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory and National Science Foundation Industry/University Cooperative Research Center for Electromagnetic Compatibility at Missouri S&T, is being recognized for contributions to power delivery networks in printed circuit designs.

In electronics design, all integrated circuits need power to function, Fan says. A power delivery network is to supply power and provide “ground” for current flow.

Sarangapani named IEEE Fellow

Dr. Jagannathan Sarangapani, Rutledge-Emerson Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology, has been named a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Sarangapani, who also is the site director for the National Science Foundation Industry/University Cooperative Research Center on Intelligent Maintenance Systems and the director of the Embedded Control Systems and Networking Laboratory, received the honor “for contributions to nonlinear discrete-time neural network adaptive control and applications.”
