Wagner receives honorary degree from Missouri S&T
Dr. John C. Wagner of Idaho Falls, Idaho, director of Idaho National Laboratory (INL) and a graduate of Missouri S&T, received the doctor of engineering, honoris causa, from Missouri S&T during the university’s morning commencement ceremony Saturday, Dec. 17.

Sixty-five current and former faculty of Missouri University of Science and Technology are among the top researchers in their field as measured by their career research records, and 12 other current or former Missouri S&T researchers were among the best in their fields in 2021, according to a recent analysis by Stanford University.

Missouri S&T commencement speakers announced
More than 700 Missouri University of Science and Technology graduates will be awarded degrees during three commencement ceremonies to be held at Missouri S&T in December. Dr. Robert M. Wagner, director of the Buildings and Transportation Science Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, will speak at the Dec. 16 ceremony for Ph.D. graduates. Mike Kehoe, lieutenant governor of Missouri, will speak at both Dec. 17 ceremonies.

S&T to honor over 700 graduates at fall commencement ceremonies
Missouri S&T will hold three commencement ceremonies this fall in the Gale Bullman Building, located at 10th Street and Bishop Avenue in Rolla. Ph.D. candidates will be honored during a ceremony at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16. Bachelor’s and master’s degree candidates will be recognized during two ceremonies held at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17. Saturday’s ceremonies are divided by discipline.

Dr. Nicole Arleane Roberson, director of equal opportunity and diversity at the Texas A&M University System, has been named vice chancellor of diversity, equity and inclusion and chief diversity officer for Missouri S&T. Her appointment begins Monday, Nov. 21.
