Missouri S&T returns to in-person summer camps for students in grades 2-12
After two years of virtual and hybrid youth camps, Missouri S&T’s in-person summer camps are back. From June 5-July 28, students in grades 2-12 will be able to immerse themselves in STEM-related subjects ranging from physics, computing and robotics to aerospace and explosives.

Missouri S&T names Richard Billo founding director of Kummer Institute Center for Advanced Manufacturing
Dr. Richard Billo, who previously served as associate vice president for research and professor of computer science and engineering at the University of Notre Dame, has been appointed founding director of the Kummer Institute Center for Advanced Manufacturing and professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology. $423 million in gifts and record fundraising year conclude S&T’s Rolla Rising campaign

Missouri S&T attains record enrollment for underrepresented minorities
The official fall 2021 enrollment at Missouri University of Science and Technology, recorded at the end of the semester’s fourth week, includes a record percentage of underrepresented minorities. Underrepresented minority students make up 12.3% of the first-year-student enrollment, which is an all-time high.

Dr. Kathryn Northcut, professor of English and technical communication, has been named vice provost of academic support at Missouri S&T, effective Thursday, Sept. 1. She has served as interim vice provost since February 2020. As vice provost of academic support, Northcut oversees the programs and services designed to support learning and improve retention and graduation rates.
