S&T orchestras to perform Oct. 16
The Missouri University of Science and Technology University and Community Symphony Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra will perform at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, in Leach Theater of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla. The orchestra will be conducted by Dr. Robert J. Cesario, assistant professor of arts, languages and philosophy.

Missouri University of Science and Technology’s public radio station KMST will hold its annual membership picnic from 4-6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at Lions Club Park on U.S. Highway 63 South in Rolla.

“Stormy Weather: The Lena Horne Project,” starring Mary Wilson, a founding member of Motown’s The Supremes, will be presented at Missouri University of Science and Technology on Saturday, Oct. 1. Vocalist Wilson and musicians will perform in this live multi-media show, which is based on the book, Stormy Weather: The Life of Lena Horne, by James Gavin. Gavin will also be on hand to narrate and for a book signing following the show.
International parade, festival in Rolla Sept. 24
Last year’s first Celebration of Nations was a huge success – this year’s event will be even bigger and better. On Saturday, Sept. 24, the second Celebration of Nations in Rolla will kick off at 11 a.m. with a parade from campus through downtown, ending at a festival with activities for the whole family.
