Rolla residents and international students get-together
Local residents are invited and encouraged to connect with international students at Missouri University of Science and Technology through the university’s International Friends Program. Missouri S&T’s office of international affairs sponsors this program, which allows community members to share American culture and customs with S&T students from other cultures.

The Missouri University of Science and Technology Jazz Ensemble will perform a “Red, White and Blues” concert this Veteran’s Day. All veterans with proof of military affiliation will get free admission to the concert scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, in Leach Theater of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla.

A self-centered emperor-turned-llama teams with a friendly peasant in Disney’s animated The Emperor’s New Groove at Missouri University of Science and Technology. The film will be shown at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, in Leach Theatre of Missouri S&T’s Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla, Mo., as part of the Leach Theatre Family Film Series.

One of India’s most important festivals, Diwali, will be celebrated at Missouri University of Science and Technology with a cultural show, fireworks and an authentic Indian dinner on Sunday, Nov. 6. Popularly known as the festival of lights, Diwali represents the triumph of good over evil. The annual event is sponsored by Missouri S&T’s India Association, an Indian student organization.

Missouri University of Science and Technology choirs will give a concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at the Christ Episcopal Church, 1000 N. Main St., in Rolla. Choirs performing include the University Choir and the Chamber Choir. The concert is free and open to the public.
