Homecoming at Missouri University of Science and Technology is Oct. 7-8. The theme for Homecoming 2011 is “Miner Legacy.”

Friday, Oct. 7

— Registration, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Castleman Hall
— “Mining the Past, Building the Future” display, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Curtis Laws Wilson Library
— Alpha Phi Alpha Happy Phriday Pep Rally, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Havener Center lawn
— Experimental Mine Open House, 1-5 p.m., 1.5 miles down Bridge School Rd.
— Campus open houses, 3-4 p.m. (chemical and biological engineering, electrical and computer engineering, English and technical communication, mechanical and aerospace engineering)
— Toomey Hall Open House, 3:30 p.m., Toomey Hall (mechanical and aerospace engineering) balcony
— Alumni Silver and Gold Gathering, 5-8 p.m., Castleman Hall; glazed chicken and barbequed brisket, drinks; “Tron-themed” entertainment; try to identify old photos from the S&T archives; meet members of student design teams, department chairs and other faculty; tickets required
— Perfect 10 Improv Show, “Tomorrow’s Jokes Today,” at 8 p.m., Black Box Theater, Room 143 Castleman Hall.

— Kummer Student Design Center Open House, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and 3:30-5 p.m., 1051 N. Bishop Ave.
— Missouri S&T Athletic Hall of Fame open to visitors, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Gale Bullman Multi-Purpose Building
— Kick-off Tailgate Party, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., alumni tent outside Allgood-Bailey Stadium; tickets are required; hot dogs, brats and drinks will available for purchase; free Kid’s Corner with inflatables, games, face painting and popcorn.
— Football game, 1 p.m., Miners vs. South Dakota School of Mines and Technology; tickets are required
— Alumni Association Miner Legends Banquet, 6-9 p.m., St. Pat’s Ballroom of the Havener Center; reception at 6 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m.; some of S&T’s most distinguished alumni will receive Miner Alumni Association awards. The association’s annual meeting will be held during this event. Tickets are required.
