The public is invited to view the moon through Missouri University of Science and Technology’s 16-inch telescope on Friday, Oct. 7. The Missouri S&T Observatory will open its doors at 8 p.m. The sky must be clear for observing. The session length will vary.

“Stormy Weather: The Lena Horne Project,” starring Mary Wilson, a founding member of Motown’s The Supremes, will be presented at Missouri University of Science and Technology on Saturday, Oct. 1. Vocalist Wilson and musicians will perform in this live multi-media show, which is based on the book, Stormy Weather: The Life of Lena Horne, by James Gavin. Gavin will also be on hand to narrate and for a book signing following the show.
International parade, festival in Rolla Sept. 24
Last year’s first Celebration of Nations was a huge success – this year’s event will be even bigger and better. On Saturday, Sept. 24, the second Celebration of Nations in Rolla will kick off at 11 a.m. with a parade from campus through downtown, ending at a festival with activities for the whole family. Don’t miss your chance to see camels and other animals, a Chinese dragon, marching bands, international entertainment and much more in this free event.

Get an inside look at the world of ants when Disney/Pixar’s animated A Bug’s Life comes to Missouri University of Science and Technology.
