When students on the Missouri S&T campus in the 1960s weren’t listening to class lectures or lab recitations, their thoughts turned to music, and part of their soundtrack came from a student band called the Jaguars.
Formed in 1964, the Jaguars were a group of students from S&T, Rolla High School and Dixon High School. After winning the “Campus Talent 1966” competition the group went on to provide party music for a decade’s worth of Miners.

Read More »Dr. Anthony J. Convertine, a biomedical engineer whose research seeks to tap polymer science to unlock the next steps in advancing drug delivery systems, has been named a Roberta and G. Robert Couch Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Missouri S&T. Convertine joins S&T from the University of Washington, where he rose to the position of research associate professor of bioengineering after starting there as a senior postdoctoral fellow in 2006.

For the past decade, Missouri State University has offered courses in civil engineering and electrical engineering on its Springfield campus taught by faculty from Missouri University of Science and Technology and Missouri State. Starting this fall, Missouri State students can apply to a third Missouri S&T engineering program — this one in mechanical engineering —that will begin in fall 2019.
