Missouri S&T civil engineering professor named Fulbright distinguished chair in Australia

A Missouri S&T civil engineering professor will lecture and conduct research in Australia as a Fulbright scholar in advanced science and technology.
Dr. William Schonberg, professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering, has been named a Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Advanced Science and Technology. His appointment begins in January 2019 at the Defence Science and Technology Group, a government agency in Melbourne.

Missouri S&T graduate student awarded top IEEE honor

A Missouri University of Science and Technology graduate student has received a top award from a leading academic honor society for engineers. Katelyn Brinker of Highland, Illinois, is co-winner of the 2017 Alton B. Zerby and Carl T. Koerner Outstanding Student Award from IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu (HKN). The honor society for electrical and computer engineers is an affiliate of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world’s largest technical professional organization for the advancement of technology.

Missouri S&T student team competes in finals of IEEE space antenna design contest

A three-person team of Missouri S&T engineering students is headed to California to vie for top honors in an international competition to construct more reliable antennas used in space travel by small satellites. The student design contest, which begins Sunday in San Diego, is sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world’s largest technical professional association. The Missouri University of Science and Technology team is one of six finalists, including university teams from Canada and Sweden.
