S&T announces 2011 Honorary Knights
The St. Pat’s Celebration Committee at Missouri University of Science and Technology has announced its 2011 Honorary Knights of St. Patrick. The Honorary Knights are Harvest Collier, Steve Graham, Irina Ivliyeva, Jim Murphy, Ted Ruth, Mary Sheffield Wray, Lonna Sowers and Larry Thomas.

St. Pat’s weekend events will include an opportunity for the public to view the moon and the Orion Nebula through Missouri University of Science and Technology’s 16-inch telescope. The Missouri S&T Observatory will open its doors at 7 p.m. Friday, March 11; however, the sky must be clear for observing.

Take a walk on the wild side when Disney’s Brother Bear is shown at Missouri University of Science and Technology. The film will be screened at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla. The film is the final offering this spring in the Leach Theatre Family Film Series.

Missouri University of Science and Technology will host the Missouri Region 8 History Day contest Friday, Feb. 25, at the Havener Center. More than 150 students from schools in a five-county area of the state will participate. This year’s theme is “Debate and Diplomacy in History.”
