Live jazz at S&T April 27

Missouri University of Science and Technology’s Jazz Band and Jazz Combo will present “Live Jazz, Spring Edition: Buddy, Basie and a Ballad” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, in Leach Theater of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla.


Tickets are $5 for the general public and free for Missouri S&T students and youth age 18 and younger. Tickets are available at the door prior to the performance.

The concert will feature music by Buddy Rich, Count Basie and a tune from the Stan Kenton library. Senior Jeffrey Divis will sing “You’re Nobody Till Somebody Loves You,” made famous by Dean Martin, and senior Ellen Ruppert will make her vocal debut. The band’s conductor is Dave Cress, lecturer in the arts, languages and philosophy department at Missouri S&T.
