Earth Day is Friday

The 10th annual Rolla Earth Day Celebration will be held on Friday, April 22, at Missouri University of Science and Technology. This year’s theme is “Live Green, Love Green, Think Green!”

Approximately 1,000 area school kids are expected to participate in this year’s activities. The event is open to the public and will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the parking lot near the Gale Bullman Multi-Purpose Building at the corner of Hwy. 63 and 10th Street, rain or shine.

This year’s celebration will feature live entertainment, exhibits, a recycled content clothing fashion show, poster and trash art displays, games and more. Earth Day T-shirts made from 100 percent recycled content will be available for $12-$14.

Missouri S&T’s Solar Village and its E-cubed Commons will be open for tours. The Solar Village is located at the corner of 10th and Poole streets. E-cubed Commons is located on the north side of I-44 at exit 185, across from Collegiate Station student housing on Collegiate Boulevard.
