S&T faculty members receive UM System President’s Awards
Three members of the Missouri University of Science and Technology faculty have been chosen to receive President’s Awards, the highest honor bestowed by the University of Missouri System, for excellence among the university’s four mission areas of teaching, research, service and economic development. In all, 11 awards will be presented this year.

Genda Chen named Abbett Chair
Dr. Genda Chen, professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology, has been named the Robert W. Abbett Distinguished Chair in Civil Engineering. The appointment takes effect July 1.

Missouri S&T announces 2014 Honorary Knights of St. Patrick
The St. Pat’s Celebration Committee at Missouri S&T has announced its 2014 list of Honorary Knights of St. Patrick. The Honorary Knights are Chancellor Cheryl B. Schrader, Sen. Roy Blunt, Mark Kearse, Keith Wedge, Dilek Acar, Angela Perkins, Gary Amsinger and Bob Edwards.

S&T student muralist to be honored at reception
Lara Edwards, a senior in biological sciences at Missouri S&T from Rolla, painted a mural on the walls of the Leola Millar Children’s Library at the Rolla Public Library for her Art in the Community class last summer. Edwards will be honored at a reception in the children’s library, located at 900 N. Pine Street in Rolla, at 6 p.m. Monday, March 10. The Rolla community is invited to attend.

Dr. Oyebanjo A. Lajubutu, assistant vice president for institutional research and effectiveness at American University of Nigeria, will join Missouri University of Science and Technology as director of institutional research and assessment on March 3.
