Former NASA astronaut to speak at Missouri S&T

Dr. Sandra Magnus, a former NASA astronaut who was recently elected to the National Academy of Engineering, will talk about her career in engineering and space when she presents “Beyond the Horizon” at 7 p.m. Monday, March 7. The talk will be held in-person and on Zoom from Leach Theatre in Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets, on the Missouri S&T campus. The event is open to the public. Admission is free, but reservations are required for in-person attendance.

S&T to continue remote operations Feb. 4

Due to continuing severe weather conditions, Missouri S&T will extend remote operations through 11:59 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4. The university previously planned to resume its normal operations on Feb. 4. Spring O’Rama, originally scheduled for Feb. 4, will be rescheduled for Friday, Feb. 18. We will continue to monitor the forecast and weather conditions as they develop.

Missouri S&T online graduate engineering programs in top 10 of U.S. News & World Report rankings

Missouri University of Science and Technology’s graduate online engineering programs are ranked ninth in the nation and seventh among public universities nationwide, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2022 Best Online Master’s in Engineering Program rankings, released today (Tuesday, Jan. 25). Additionally, these programs are ranked seventh in the nation for military veterans.

$423 million in gifts and record fundraising year conclude S&T’s Rolla Rising campaign

A multiyear fundraising initiative, Rolla Rising: The Campaign for Missouri University of Science and Technology, began in 2016 with a $150 million funding goal and ended June 30, 2021, with a record-breaking $423.4 million in gifts, Joan Nesbitt, vice chancellor of University Advancement at Missouri S&T, announced today (Thursday, Sept. 30).

Northcut named vice provost of academic support

Dr. Kathryn Northcut, professor of English and technical communication, has been named vice provost of academic support at Missouri S&T, effective Thursday, Sept. 1. She has served as interim vice provost since February 2020. As vice provost of academic support, Northcut oversees the programs and services designed to support learning and improve retention and graduation rates.

Missouri S&T broadband research wins national contract
