College celebrates rise in graduate engineering rankings

Missouri S&T secures $2 million contract to develop engineering program in Kuwait

Missouri S&T faculty will help a university in Kuwait develop its own undergraduate engineering program through a nearly $2 million contract.

The Gulf University of Science and Technology (GUST), a private university near Kuwait City on the Persian Gulf, signed a $1.9 million, five-year agreement with Missouri S&T to establish new engineering programs and monitor the programs’ quality.

Missouri S&T selects 2019 St. Pat and court

Peter Doran, a senior in engineering management at Missouri S&T, will portray St. Patrick during the 111th celebration of St. Pat’s in Rolla. Doran is from Kansas City, Missouri. St. Pat and his court will officially arrive in downtown Rolla at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 13. Following a procession through downtown, the court will preside over follies at the pavilion on 9th and Oak streets near the railroad tracks.

S&T Miners to offer swim lessons to area kids

The classes will be held Monday, April 1, through Thursday, April 11, at the Missouri S&T swimming pool in the Gale Bullman Building, located at 10thStreet and Bishop Avenue in Rolla. The fee for the program is $85.

Missouri S&T announces 2019 Honorary St. Pat and Honorary Knights

The St. Pat’s Celebration Committee at Missouri S&T has announced Bill Jenks will serve as Honorary St. Pat and parade marshal for the 111th St. Pat’s celebration.

The committee also announced the 2019 Honorary Knights of St. Patrick. The eight Honorary Knights are Dr. Joel Burken, University of Missouri System President Mun Y. Choi, Ken Clayton, Tyrone Davidson, Connie Goodridge, Steve Malott, Dr. Jeff Schramm and Bill Stoltz.
