The African American Cultural Recognition Committee at the University of Missouri-Rolla will sponsor or co-sponsor several local events in the coming months to celebrate diversity and promote cultural awareness. All events are open to the public.

In his commencement address Saturday (Dec. 17, 2005), Zebulun (Zeb) Nash challenged the University of Missouri-Rolla graduating class to use their educations to make the world a better place. A former Peace Corps volunteer, Nash added: “Be flexible, and seek healthy adventure in your lives.”

“TubaChristmas,” a free concert of popular Christmas carols performed by Rolla-area tuba and euphonium players, will be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 10, in the atrium of the Havener Center on the University of Missouri-Rolla campus. Rolla is one of 180 cities that will host a hometown TubaChristmas performance this winter.
