Motivational speaker James Lucas will address how to develop and maintain a passion for work in two talks on Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, at the University of Missouri-Rolla.
The lectures, which are free and open to the community, will run from 10-11:15 a.m. and 2-3:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, in the St. Pat’s Grand Ballroom in the Havener Center. The event is sponsored in part by UMR’s office of alumni and constituent relations.
Lucas, the president and CEO of Luman Consultants International Inc., graduated from UMR in 1972 with an engineering management degree. He is the author of 13 books, including “The Passionate Organization: Igniting the Fire of Employee Commitment,” now in its fourth printing. Its principles are being practiced in such diverse places as Procter & Gamble, Kerr-McGee, Cintas, Ernst & Young, IBA Belgium and the U.S. Army.
“Lucas is dedicated to developing passionate, high-performance leaders, people, teams and organizations,” says Marianne Ward, assistant director of alumni and constituent relations. “His engaging presentation style reaches all levels of employees — from the president of an organization to the part-time employee.”
On Saturday, Jan. 28, Lucas will serve as the morning keynote speaker to more than 200 student leaders on campus.
