One of India’s most important festivals, Diwali, will be celebrated at Missouri University of Science and Technology with a cultural show, fireworks and an authentic Indian dinner on Sunday, Nov. 6. Popularly known as the festival of lights, Diwali represents the triumph of good over evil. The annual event is sponsored by Missouri S&T’s India Association, an Indian student organization.

Missouri University of Science and Technology choirs will give a concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at the Christ Episcopal Church, 1000 N. Main St., in Rolla. Choirs performing include the University Choir and the Chamber Choir. The concert is free and open to the public.

The arts, languages and philosophy department at Missouri University of Science and Technology, along with the Miner League Theatre Players, are presenting Laura, a play by Vera Caspary and George Sklar, on Oct. 28-30, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall on campus. The Missouri University of Science and Technology University and Community Symphony Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra will perform at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, in Leach Theater of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla. The orchestra will be conducted by Dr. Robert J. Cesario, assistant professor of arts, languages and philosophy.
