Leach Theatre art show opens Sept. 12
Throughout the fall semester, visitors to Leach Theatre can view an exhibit by local artists Orval Reeves and Louis Smart. Reeves’ works for the theater include a variety of paintings; Smart’s works are bronze sculptures and statues.

The local community is invited to view new and classic films at no cost during Missouri University of Science and Technology’s 2017 Free Fall Film Festival. The first film in the series will be “Hidden Figures,” an American biographical drama that follows African American female mathematicians who worked at NASA during the Cold War’s space race.

Perform in the Rolla Town Band this summer
Area musicians are invited to join the Rolla Town Band this summer. Rehearsals begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 20. The band is open to musicians age 14 and older. Players of all abilities are welcome, including those who have not played in recent years.

Stephanie O’Sullivan, former principal deputy director of National Intelligence at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, will speak at two commencement ceremonies at Missouri S&T this month. O’Sullivan is a 1982 civil engineering graduate of Missouri S&T. During commencement, O’Sullivan will receive the doctor of science, honoris causa.
