Missouri University of Science and Technology’s public radio station KMST honored Rolla, Missouri, real estate agent Cindy Beger as “Volunteer of the Year” during the station’s annual Membership Reunion, held April 28 at the Lions Club Den in Rolla. Douglas P. Roberts, assistant special agent in charge for the St. Louis Field Office of the U.S. Secret Service, has been named chief of University Police at Missouri University of Science and Technology. He replaces Raymon Bogart, who had served in an interim role since former Chief Christine Laughlin retired in 2015. Roberts’ position takes effect June 1.

S&T Hispanic Film Series to conclude April 29
The Hispanic Film Series offered by the Missouri University of Science and Technology arts, languages, and philosophy department will conclude with a screening of the comedic yet bittersweet Mexican film “Paradise.” The film begins at 7 p.m. Friday, April 29, in Room 104 Physics Building on the S&T campus. The event is free of charge.

Faculty were recognized for their outstanding teaching, which was reflected in the quality of instruction, interaction with students and availability.

Three electrical and computer engineers with ties to Missouri University of Science and Technology were inducted into the Missouri S&T Academy of Electrical and Computer Engineers during the academy’s induction ceremony, which was held at the Comfort Suites Conference Center in Rolla, Missouri, on April 21. The academy is an advisory group to the Missouri S&T electrical and computer engineering department. Founded in 1980, the academy is composed of alumni and other electrical and computer engineers who have made outstanding contributions to their profession.
