S&T to host lecture on uncertainty quantification

Learn how mathematics can be used to estimate uncertainty in physical and biological systems, like weather patterns, in a lecture to be held this month at Missouri S&T. Dr. Ralph C. Smith, professor of mathematics at North Carolina State University, will present the lecture, titled “Uncertainty quantification for physical and biological models,” at 4:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, in Room G-5 of the Rolla Building.

Fall jazz concert to be performed at S&T

NASA scientist to guest lecture at S&T

Former NASA scientist Dr. Kathryn Clark will speak about her experiences with leadership at NASA in an open lecture at Missouri S&T in November. She will discuss what qualities make a good leader and what makes a great one. Clark’s lecture, titled “Find it, fix it, fly: Leadership and NASA Disasters,” will begin at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla. The event is free and open to the public, however tickets will be required.

Trick-or-treat at Missouri S&T

All ghosts, witches, superheroes and princesses are invited to visit Missouri S&T for a Halloween Trunk-Or-Treat. Local area children can trick-or-treat without the fear of traffic as they receive candy from recognized S&T student organizations. The annual Halloween Trunk-Or-Treat takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, in the Residential College parking lot next to the Dairy Queen on University Drive.
