Earthquake simulator wins first place in second annual Miner Creativity Challenge

Seismic Simulator, an earthquake simulator that shows young learners the power of movement, was awarded the $5,000 first-place prize in the Miner Creativity Challenge held in April. The event is organized by Kummer Student Programs in partnership with S&T’s Makerspace and the Kummer Center for STEM Education.

The Foam Warriors win S&T’s first Miner Creativity Challenge

On May 2, the Foam Warriors team was awarded the $5,000 first-place prize in the Miner Creativity Challenge for the STEM learning experience it created, the Quick Draw Cannon. The team was one of 11 to enter a toy designed and created for middle school students in the competition, which was open to teams of three to five S&T undergraduate or graduate students.

Missouri S&T Renaissance Student Award granted to well-rounded graduate

Daniel Roesch, a graduating senior in ceramic engineering with minors in chemistry and studio art, has earned Missouri S&T’s 2018 Renaissance Student Award. S&T ‘s College of Arts, Sciences, and Business and the arts, languages and philosophy department presented the award, which includes a $1,000 prize, in a ceremony on campus today at the Havener Center.
