Watkins elected to leadership position in IEEE-HKN

Dr. Steve E. Watkins, professor of electrical engineering and computer engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology, is the 2017 president-elect of IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu (IEEE-HKN), the honor society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. In 2018, he will lead the organization as IEEE-HKN president and will chair the board of governors.

S&T’s Lusk on committee to help keep miners safe

A Missouri University of Science and Technology researcher is part of a national group looking at ways to keep miners — especially underground coal miners — safe.

Dr. Braden Lusk, professor and chair of mining and nuclear engineering at Missouri S&T, is on the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine committee to study occupational exposure to respirable coal mine dust in underground mines.
