‘Football Physics’ to be discussed

A former S&T physics professor will return to Rolla to discuss the physics of football next week. Dr. Tim Gay, now a professor at the University of Nebraska, will discuss a series of one-minute physics lectures he gave to Nebraska fans during home football games from 1999 to 2004. The lecture will be held from 4-5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, in Room 104 of the Physics Building.

More than 50 faculty members will showcase their talents at a fundraiser for the Missouri S&T chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB). The show will be held from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, in Leach Theater of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla. Tickets are $5 and $10 for general admission; VIP seating is available for $25.

S&T students organize successful diaper drive

Eighteen students enrolled in an Introduction to Project Management class at Missouri University of Science and Technology recently participated in a service learning project that resulted in the donation of 5,000 new diapers to the Phelps County Community Partnership’s Young Parents Program.
