S&T co-ed mucking team takes second in international competition, men finish seventh

Missouri S&T students likely did their school mascot, Joe Miner, proud with their final results in the 45th Intercollegiate Mining Competition.

The university’s co-ed team earned second place honors for their division in the competition, which was held in late March at the Western Australia School of Mines (WASM), and the men’s team came in sixth.

George Horne receives Chancellor Medal from Missouri S&T

George Horne, one of Missouri University of Science and Technology’s first two black students, has been honored with the university’s Chancellor Medal for pioneering an integration movement at S&T when he enrolled in 1950. Missouri S&T Chancellor Mo Dehghani presented Horne with the medal at his home in St. Louis on Monday, March 27.

New York Times tool identifies Missouri S&T as top 10 ‘high-value’ university

Missouri University of Science and Technology is one of the nation’s top 10 “high-value institutions,” according to a new online tool from The New York Times designed to aid prospective students in their college search. Missouri S&T is eighth among universities that provide a great value for the cost, according to a ranking published in a March 27 Times article by Frank Bruni titled “There’s Only One College Rankings List That Matters.”
