S&T building to be renovated, renamed

Straumanis Hall, which houses the Materials Research Center on the campus of Missouri University of Science and Technology, is scheduled to be renovated this summer. In conjunction with the renovation, the building will be renamed Straumanis-James Hall in honor of Dr. William (Bill) James, professor emeritus of chemistry at Missouri S&T.

Photo contest to celebrate S&T landmark

It’s been a decade since the Millennium Arch was installed on the lawn of Missouri University of Science and Technology’s Castleman Hall. To commemorate the event, a contest is being held for the best photographs of the landmark, with $500 in prizes to be awarded in each of four categories. The contest is sponsored by the Missouri S&T Campus Art Committee and the New York Foundation for the Arts.
