S&T historian’s latest book focuses on Jewish post-Holocaust reconstruction in France

After World War II, French Holocaust survivors returned to their homes in Paris to find them stripped of personal belongings and occupied by new inhabitants. Attempts to reclaim those belongings were key in efforts to rebuild Jewish political and social inclusion after the war, says Dr. Shannon Fogg, chair and professor of history and political science at Missouri University of Science and Technology.

Doe Run donates $40,000 to Missouri S&T for new spectrometer

With 50,000 new employees needed in the mining industry by 2019, and 3.5 million manufacturing jobs expected over the next decade, The Doe Run Co. understands the importance of educating the next generation of the workforce. The company recently donated $40,000 to Missouri University of Science and Technology toward the purchase of an X-ray fluorescence (XRF) Spectrometer for its geology, mining and metallurgical engineering programs.

S&T student earns Department of State scholarship to study abroad

Devin Potter, a sophomore in history at Missouri University of Science and Technology, has earned the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship from the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. This scholarship helps give students the opportunity to study aboard by providing up to $5,000 toward internships or studies in foreign locations.

Mollenkamp named assistant vice chancellor for business services at Missouri S&T

John Mollenkamp, acting director of the Missouri Department of Revenue, has been named assistant vice chancellor for business services. He will begin his duties at Missouri S&T on Monday, Jan. 9. Mollenkamp replaces Randy Stoll, who recently retired. Mollenkamp will report to Walt Branson, vice chancellor for Finance and Administration. He will direct the department of business services and provide direction to the manager of campus printing and mail operations.
