Missouri S&T receives grant to reduce sexual assault, violence against women

Missouri University of Science and Technology will receive $300,000 over three years through the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Violence Against Women (OVW) Grants to Reduce Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence and Stalking on Campus Program. The funding will allow Missouri S&T to strengthen and formalize education, policies and procedures, and messaging to prevent and respond to sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking.

Celebration of Nations honored by Rolla Chamber

The Rolla Area Chamber of Commerce presented the Celebration of Nations Committee at Missouri University of Science and Technology with its Annual Achievement Award for 2017. The award, which recognizes the committee for its efforts in growing the annual Celebration of Nations event, was presented during the chamber’s 97th annual awards banquet, held Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Havener Center on the Missouri S&T campus.

Spring enrollment numbers announced at Missouri S&T

Enrollment for the first day of classes at Missouri University of Science and Technology was 7,834. This is 1.2 percent less than spring enrollment in 2016, says Deanne Jackson, Missouri S&T registrar.

The spring semester at Missouri S&T began on Tuesday, Jan. 17. Last spring, 7,931 students were enrolled on the first day of the spring semester.

Cellist Yo-Yo Ma to perform at Missouri S&T

Ma will be the 32nd presenter in the series. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall, located at 10th and Main streets in Rolla.
