Missouri S&T EWB group completes work in Nahualate

The student chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB) at Missouri University of Science and Technology will travel to Nahualate, Guatemala, this December to complete its 10-year effort to provide clean drinking water to the community. This past August, the team finished one of the largest EWB projects in the organization’s history: a distribution system that includes a 430-foot well, 15,000-gallon storage tank, chlorination system and 8 miles of distribution pipe.

Thomas Vojta named chair of physics at Missouri S&T

Planned partial power outage at Missouri S&T Dec. 20

Missouri S&T Solar House Design Team receives support for competition

The Missouri Department of Economic Development’s Division of Energy helped fund the Missouri University of Science and Technology Solar House Design Team’s building costs for the 2017 U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon. The competition, which has run since 2002, moved from California to Denver, Colorado, this year, and incorporated new challenges.

University of Missouri Curators approve Advanced Construction and Materials Laboratory at Missouri S&T

The University of Missouri System Board of Curators on Thursday approved a new $6.5 million lab at Missouri University of Science and Technology that is expected to position the university as a national leader in addressing the challenges of aging public infrastructure. The Advanced Construction and Materials Laboratory (ACML) will expand the High-bay Structures Laboratory in Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall to provide 16,000 square feet of research space for developing and testing new construction materials and methods.

Participants wanted for focus group on women in business

Women in business are invited to participate in a focus group to share their ideas and opinions about creating a group that provides women with access to business resources, training, networking and a forum to test out new ideas. The focus group is hosted by the Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) at Missouri University of Science and Technology, Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Woman Space Rolla.
