Royalties from patents on commercialized inventions and products bring in hundreds of thousands of dollars in income every year for Missouri University of Science and Technology. During the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2019, Missouri S&T earned a record $698,223 in royalty income, a 32 percent increase over the previous year, and the cumulative royalty amount crossed the $5 million mark in fiscal year 2019.
