Colin Mochrie talks science, improv, and his upcoming Rolla show

Colin Mochrie, star of the television program “Whose Line it is Anyway?,” will appear on the Leach Theatre stage with hypnotist Asad Mecci at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 5, to present their new show “HYPROV: Improv Under Hypnosis” at Missouri S&T.

If Mochrie’s life had gone slightly different, he may have been known as one of the world’s best dolphin trainers, instead of one of the world’s best improvisational comedians.

When Dr. David Richardson began his bachelor’s degree studies in civil engineering at Missouri S&T in the late 1960s, he says he never could have dreamed how exactly his career would progress — and how many high-profile awards and accolades he would earn along the way.

Now, Richardson, who also earned his master’s and Ph.D. degrees in civil engineering from S&T, has one more award he can add to his mantle, as he was recently inducted into the Missouri Asphalt Pavement Association (MAPA) Hall of Fame.

S&T co-ed mucking team takes second in international competition, men finish seventh

Missouri S&T students likely did their school mascot, Joe Miner, proud with their final results in the 45th Intercollegiate Mining Competition.

The university’s co-ed team earned second place honors for their division in the competition, which was held in late March at the Western Australia School of Mines (WASM), and the men’s team came in sixth.
