U.S. Army Capt. Joshua E. Steele, a 2002 geological engineering graduate from Missouri S&T, will be honored during a memorial dedication at 1 p.m. Monday, May 11, at the flag in front of Harris Hall on campus. Steele was killed when his humvee was struck with an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan on June 17, 2007.

The Missouri S&T University and Community Symphony Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra will perform their final concert of the semester at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, May 3, in Leach Theater of Castleman Hall. The orchestra will be conducted by Dr. Robert J. Cesario, assistant professor of arts, languages and philosophy.
Friday, May 1, will be the final opportunity this spring for the public to view Saturn and the moon during Visitors’ Night at Missouri S&T’s Astronomical Observatory. Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and is the second largest in the solar system. Its ring system makes the planet one of the most beautiful objects in the solar system.
New developments in aerospace manufacturing technology will be displayed and discussed during a conference May 26-27 at Missouri University of Science and Technology. The conference is sponsored by the Center for Aerospace Manufacturing Technologies at Missouri S&T.
