For an out-of-the-ordinary experience this week, come to the Blackbox Theatre of Castleman Hall for a series of student-directed one-act plays. The one-acts will be performed by Missouri S&T’s Miner League Theatre Players.
Seating will begin at 7 p.m. for performances beginning at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 30; Friday, May 1; and Saturday, May 2. The theatre is located in Room 143 Castleman Hall. A $5 donation is appreciated. Seating is limited.
The first play, “Amicable Parting,” written by George S. Kaufman and Leueen MacGrath, will be directed by Sarah Lewey of Rolla, a sophomore majoring in history. “Babel’s in Arms” and “Dr. Fritz,” both written by David Ives, will be directed by Kelly Hunter of Charleston, Mo., a senior majoring in chemical engineering.
There is also original work by students Jeremy Saphire and Angela Watts. Saphire, a junior majoring in chemical engineering from Dearborn, Mo., will direct his play “Work is Murder.” Watts, a sophomore majoring in architectural engineering from Kidder, Mo., will direct her physical short scene, “Pirate vs. Ninja.”
