Missouri University of Science and Technology will host the Missouri Region 8 History Day contest Friday, Feb. 26, at the Havener Center. More than 200 students from five schools in a four-county area of the state will participate. This year’s theme is “Innovation in History, Impact and Change.”

Tribute planned for S&T’s Shakespearean scholar Knight

Nicholas Knight, professor emeritus of English and technical communication at S&T. The event will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, in the Parish Hall of Christ Episcopal Church, 10th and Main streets, in Rolla.

View ‘The Red Planet’ at S&T’s Observatory

The community is invited to view the moon and Mars through Missouri University of Science and Technology’s 16-inch telescope beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, weather permitting. Mars is called “The Red Planet” for its reddish appearance due to iron oxide on its surface.
