The Missouri University of Science and Technology Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony will perform at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, in Leach Theater of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla.

Tickets are $3 for the general public and free for Missouri S&T students. Tickets are available between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and one hour before the performance in the Leach Theatre Box Office, located in the lobby of Castleman Hall.

The Symphonic Band will open the concert with works by Eric Ewazen, Percy Grainger, Frank Ticheli, and Carl King’s upbeat march, Circus Days.

After a short intermission, the Wind Symphony will play Waggery for Woodwinds, by Harold Walters, Divertimento, by Roger Cichy and Aufbruch, by Rolf Rudin.

“A highlight of the concert will be Rudin’s new large work for wind band,” says Dr. Robert J. Cesario, director of bands and orchestras. “This work is sure to engage everyone in the hall.” German composer Rudin specializes in large scale wind compositions.

An additional opportunity to enjoy the Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 25.
