Poet to combine Benton and Brazil in reading

Poet and printer Clarence Wolfshohl will combine two of his favorite interests, Thomas Hart Benton and the country of Brazil, in a poetry reading titled, “Tom Benton Floats the Amazon,” at Missouri S&T. The reading will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, in Room 138 Castleman Hall, and is free and open to the public.

Literary magazine celebrates anniversary with Bogan’s work on Brazil

The work of Dr. James Bogan is featured in the April issue of New Letters, a literary magazine that is currently celebrating its 75th year of existence. Bogan is a Curators’ Professor of art history and film at Missouri University of Science and Technology.

S&T orchestras to perform holiday concert on Dec. 12

The Missouri S&T University and Community Symphony Orchestra and the Missouri S&T Chamber Orchestra will perform their winter holiday concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, in Leach Theater of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla. The orchestra will be conducted by Dr. Robert J. Cesario, assistant professor of arts, languages and philosophy.

School Outreach Program to feature ‘Jason and the Argonauts’

Missouri S&T will present the next event in the 2008-09 School Outreach Program, “Jason and the Argonauts,” at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, and at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25. The performances will be held in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla, Mo. The 9:30 performance on Nov. 24 is sold out; however, tickets remain for the other two shows. All tickets are $3.50 each.

A comedic ride through American history to be performed at S&T

Tickets remain for the Reduced Shakespeare Company’s “The Complete History of America (abridged),” a special event that will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall on the Missouri S&T campus, 10th and Main streets in Rolla. Tickets are $28 for adults, $18 for youth and $8 for Missouri S&T students. S&T students can charge admission to student accounts.
