Senior Vanessa Mahan, a biological sciences major, thought she wanted to be a medical doctor. But a semester’s coursework in cell biology led Mahan to learn the profession was not for her. After further exploring her interests through a biodiversity course, Mahan found her passion in merging medicine with her love of animals.

This week, Ablaze Records will release a recording of the piece performed by Czech Republic orchestra Brno Philharmonic on Orchestral Masters, Volume 6. Read More »Missouri S&T physics graduate Dr. Frederick K. Baganoff will receive the 2020 Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics as one member of the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) Collaboration. Baganoff is a research scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Kavli Institute for Astrophysics and Space Research. He earned a bachelor of science degree in physics from Missouri S&T in 1985.
