Missouri S&T’s arts, languages and philosophy department will present its fall jazz ensemble concert this November.
The concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall, located at the corner of 10th and Main streets on the Missouri S&T campus. The ensembles will be directed by Dr. Kyle Wernke, an assistant teaching professor of music.
The concert will begin with a performance by the S&T Jazz Combo, followed by the larger ensembles at 7 p.m. The ensembles will perform music by Charlie Parker, Count Basie, Gordon Goodwin, Sammy Nestico and more.
“Come join us for an evening of jazz with the S&T Combo and both the Joe and Miner big bands,” says Wernke. “We will present a dynamic program of everything from Latin, to swing, to funk.”
Tickets are $5 in advance or $7 at the door for the public and free to youth, ages 18 and under, and Missouri S&T students with a valid ID.
