S&T faculty members receive UM System President’s Awards

Three members of the Missouri University of Science and Technology faculty have been chosen to receive President’s Awards, the highest honor bestowed by the University of Missouri System, for excellence in advancing the mission of the university. In all 10 awards were presented to UM System faculty this year. They will be formally honored at an awards celebration in June.

The academy is an advisory group that was founded in 1954. The group includes graduates and others who have made outstanding contributions to their professions.

Mary Reidmeyer named first recipient of S&T women’s advocate award

Dr. Mary Reidmeyer, teaching professor of ceramic engineering and outreach coordinator in materials science and engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology, has been named the recipient of the inaugural Dr. Elizabeth Cummins Women’s Advocate Award at Missouri S&T. She was honored during a campus ceremony on Wednesday, April 19.

Missouri S&T ranks eighth in ROI report

Missouri University of Science and Technology is one of the best values in higher education, according to the 2017 PayScale College ROI Report. Missouri S&T ranks eighth in the nation for annual return on investment (ROI), according to the PayScale report, with an average annual ROI of 11.7 percent over 20 years. That puts Missouri S&T sixth among public universities for in-state students and first among Missouri colleges and universities.

Missouri S&T awards Chancellor’s Scholarships

Missouri University of Science and Technology awarded Chancellor’s Scholarships to 18 high school seniors for the 2017-2018 academic year. To qualify for the scholarship, students must be Missouri residents, have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.75 or rank in the upper 10 percent of their high school graduation class and have ACT composite scores of 31 or better. The students also must complete a 750-word essay and participate in an on-campus interview.
