For the second year in a row, men’s and women’s mucking teams at the University of Missouri-Rolla have won championships in the Intercollegiate Mining Competition. The UMR mucking teams, competing against teams from around the world, took first place April 2 in Reno, Nev.

Dr. Steve Watkins, professor of electrical and computer engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla, will receive the Achievement Award from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ (IEEE) Regional Activities Board during the organization’s conference in Colorado April 7-9.
