Yiyu Shi receives NSF CAREER Award for computer engineering research

22 faculty members to receive awards at Missouri S&T

Twenty-two Missouri University of Science and Technology faculty members received the Faculty Achievement, Research, Service or Teaching Award for 2013. Each award winner receives a $1,000 stipend funded by industry and alumni contributions. The awards were presented at a ceremony held Feb. 18 on campus.

Chemical transport in plants likened to that of humans

Plant roots and certain human membrane systems resist chemical transport in much the same way, say researchers at Missouri University of Science and Technology in a recent journal article. This similarity could make it easier to assess chemical risks for both people and plants, and may even lead to a new approach to testing medications.
