New book ‘Roadhouse Justice’ focuses on true crime

In his latest book, Roadhouse Justice: Hattie Lee Barnes and the Killing of a White Man in 1950s Mississippi, historian Trent Brown weaves a story of injustice, civil rights and the southern legal system. This is Brown’s second book about true crime in the South, and he says the story picks up right where his previous book left off.

Northcut named vice provost of academic support

Dr. Kathryn Northcut, professor of English and technical communication, has been named vice provost of academic support at Missouri S&T, effective Thursday, Sept. 1. She has served as interim vice provost since February 2020. As vice provost of academic support, Northcut oversees the programs and services designed to support learning and improve retention and graduation rates.

Missouri S&T renews partnership with Adobe

Missouri University of Science and Technology is continuing its partnership with Adobe Systems Inc. to give students and faculty in the technical communication program hands-on access to Adobe’s industry-standard software. This partnership is made possible through Adobe’s University Outreach Program, which offers licenses for Adobe Technical Communication Suite to students and faculty in technical communication programs.
