Bird is the word on KMST’s new segment

Public radio station KMST listeners can now learn about birding in the Ozarks in a new radio segment titled, “The Backyard Birder with Mike Doyen.” The five-minute program will air three times on “Morning Edition” and twice on “All Things Considered” on the second Monday of every month. The program debuted on Monday, April 12.

Bridge expert from S&T does post-earthquake reconnaissance in Chile

Dr. Genda Chen, professor of civil engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology, was part of a seven-member Transportation Infrastructure Reconnaissance Team that traveled to Chile earlier this month to document the performance of bridges, tunnels and retaining walls in the wake of February’s Chilean earthquake.

S&T completes TRIM grant inventory

Missouri University of Science and Technology has 2,247 trees spread across its 236-acre campus. That’s the finding from a recent tree inventory conducted using funds from a $10,000 Tree Resource Improvement and Maintenance (TRIM) grant from the Missouri Department of Conservation.

Students’ Chem-E car wins regional competition
