The Missouri University of Science and Technology performing arts department will present “An Evening of Chamber Music” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 22, in Leach Theater of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla.
The evening will feature performances by the university’s string chamber orchestra, a student-run percussion ensemble (including a piece played on trash cans), a student brass quintet, and two groups with both students and faculty – a trombone trio and a strings and winds septet. Musical selections will range from the Renaissance period through contemporary works, with pieces by composers Paul Whear, Thomas Morley, Ludvig von Beethoven and others.
Tickets are $3 for the general public and free for S&T students. They can be purchased at the door the night of the performance.
