Public radio station KMST and St. James Winery will host a special 11-day “Discover Portugal” tour in April 2013. The escorted tour is arranged through Globus, an international travel company. Those booking by the Friday, Dec. 14, deadline will receive gifts valued at more than $200.

Serenity, a composition written in honor of the late daughter of Dr. Robert J. Cesario, band conductor at Missouri University of Science and Technology, will debut at a Nov. 30 concert on the campus. Anna Cesario died from ovarian cancer in 2009, after more than five years battling the disease.

Thirty-four Missouri University of Science and Technology faculty members will receive the Outstanding Teaching Award for 2011-2012. The winners will be recognized at a ceremony scheduled from 3-4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, in St. Pat’s Ballroom B of the Havener Center. The Outstanding Teaching Award is given each year to faculty members by the Outstanding Teaching Award Committee, which bases its selections on student evaluations.
