Missouri S&T student killed in traffic accident

Aaron Richard Cobb, 21, a senior in civil engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology, was killed early this morning (Friday, Nov. 9) in a traffic accident on 18th Street in Rolla. He was from Olathe, Kan.


Officers from Missouri S&T University Police and the Rolla Police Department responded to the scene.

According to the Rolla Police Department, Cobb was driving a vehicle that was eastbound on 18th Street when it struck a utility pole at the Bardsley Road intersection. The accident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m.

Cobb was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident is under investigation by the Rolla Police Department.

    My heart goes out to his family and friends. Aaron was a friend and pledge brother of my stepson and I had the pleasure of meeting him several times. I know he will be truly missed.
