There have to be pioneers to start an integration movement. For Missouri S&T, those pioneers were George Horne and Elmer Bell Jr. Although neither earned degrees from S&T, Horne and Bell were the university’s first two Black students.

Students interested in pursuing a master’s degree online have 16 nationally ranked programs to choose from at Missouri S&T. U.S. News & World Report’s 2021 Best Online Programs rankings, released today (Tuesday, Jan. 26), include Missouri S&T’s online MBA program, 14 online graduate programs in engineering and U.S. News’ computer information technology category.

Vehicle collisions with bridge supports or girders are the second leading cause of bridge collapse in the United States, with an average of three such collisions per day, according to researchers at Missouri S&T who are studying ways to improve bridge repair and cut costs for cities and states.
