KMST fall membership drive to begin Oct. 3
Public radio station KMST at Missouri S&T begins its Fall Membership Drive at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, with its popular bluegrass program, “Bluegrass for a Saturday Night.” The drive runs through the following Sunday, Oct. 11.

Fraternity and sorority members at Missouri University of Science and Technology are working with the Phelps County Community Partnership to host a carnival that will help prospective parents and children in the foster care system explore adoption. Adoptive parents, both licensed and prospective, are invited to attend.

The first presentation of Missouri S&T’s 2009-10 Campus Performing Arts Series will be a stage adaptation of John Steinbeck’s classic Of Mice and Men. The performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall.

All student organizations and community groups are invited to celebrate the International Day of Peace on Monday, Sept. 21, at Missouri S&T. A parade and candlelight vigil will begin at 7:15 p.m. at the Puck, located in the middle of S&T’s campus.

Last spring’s presentation of Butterfly: The Story of a Life Cycle was so popular, Missouri S&T has asked the Hudson Vagabond Puppets (HVP) touring company back to Rolla for a repeat engagement this fall.

The sixth season of the Family Film Series at Missouri S&T begins with The Tale of Despereaux, a story of a brave and virtuous mouse who dreams of becoming a knight. The series gives children and their families an opportunity to view classic family films on a large screen, at a reasonable price.
